We set out to hike the Kinsmans, but while driving up we realized that Ashley, Emily and Dianne all needed Mt Monroe (Bill and I have hiked all 48 mountains over 4k already), and it was a great clear day. It was a no brainer, we changed to Mt Monroe via the Ammonoosuc ravine trail (which none of us had taken before).

Diane couldn't resist bringing potato chips on the hike, and Bill couldn't resist the chips!

I liked that this log kind of looked like a face

Lake of the clouds

Mt Washington clear just for a second. It might be clear everywhere else in NH, but the mountains trap clouds, and the higher you are the more likey you are to be in a cloud even on a nice day.
