Mt Isolation, as the name suggests it is in the middle of nowhere, most people hike it to check it off of the NH 4k list, I happen to have hiked it 3 times already, and I think I likely will hike it again. The shortest hike is about 14 miles round trip, and when you are out there you are at least 5 miles from anything, there isn't much you can see as evidence of humanity aside from the observation tower on top of Mt Washington. This time (unlike the last 2 times) we took the Glen Boulder Trail up to near the top of the Boot Spur (which Ashley likes to call the Bone Spur) then connecting to the Davis path, the fun thing about that is you get to climb up to around 5000 feet then climb back down to under 4000' to get to Mt Isolation. Wouldn't you know it you have to climb back up again to get out too (the other way has multiple river crossings instead)! We started this long hike at 1 PM, knowing that we would finish in the dark, we finished just before 11PM.

lots of drinking, the day was very hot. We actually ran out of water on our way down, usually I bring chlorine drops with me, but wouldn't you know it I forgot them!
shake it!
moose tracks... didn't see any moose though

trying to get the right shot, the sky is underexposed (too bad because I like the shot)
sunset makes anything look cool
sun going down and we are still climbing up toward the Boot Spur
I took a couple shots of the sky from the camp site
