The day after hiking Isolation we decided it would be a good idea to hike Mt Waumbek. Mt Waumbek is one of those mountains that nobody hikes unless they are peak bagging, it is just over 4000 feet and has no view , but most importantly it is further north than any other mountain in the whites aside from Mt Cabot (and therefore a further drive). Of course Ashley is working on her list of mountains over 4k, so we had to do it sometime.

Becasue of all the rain this year everything is lush and green, there are mushrooms and moss on everything, which makes everything look enchanted and very cool.

I am particularly fond of this fern growing inside the rotten stump, that whole life springing out of death/decay
