Mt Isolation, one of the easiest of the 4k'+ mountains in the white mountains... once you get to it that is. The hike is over 14 miles and includes 5 river crossings. On this day the rivers were high because of the melting snow and it took a long time crossing them. 10 of us set out at 9:30 in the AM, at 3 or 3:30, having only crossed 2 of the river crossings the team leader, Michael Blair (MB) decided to turn the group around. Lei and I asked him if it was ok if we continued on and he said ok. We crossed the 3rd river crossing and tried to bushwhack to avoid the 4th and 5th ones, that was a bad idea as it turned out. Then we lost the path due to the snow and ended up bushwacking up to Davis path, which wasn't labeled (because we were not on the path), so it was luck really that got us to the top at 5:30. The trip down was long, the rivers cold and it was dark at that point. We got done at 12:15 AM, this was the most difficult hike I had taken to date.
