16 hikers from 2 hiking groups (random hiking group and new england group hiking group) set out this fine Sunday morning to summit Mt Pierce (4312') and possibly continue on to Mt Eisenhower (4760') via the Crawford Path. The weather conditions were about as ideal as it gets, it was sunny and warm with almost no wind. 15 of the 16 made it to the summit of Pierce. The path from Pierce to Eisenhower wasn't tracked, 6 of us set out to make our own path, 5 made it to the summit of Eisenhower. The picture I used in the web page header is actually of Mt Washington taken from the summit of My Eisenhower.
Evan, Mikkel, Diane and... I actually don't know who the last person is (pleast tell me if you know) from Mt Pierce.
A nice shot of Mt Washington (and Monroe and Jefferson) from the summit of Eisenhower.
Mikkel, Zach, Alex and Diane on the summit of Eisenhower.

This was on the way up Pierce, the first view of the presidentials that day (you can see Alex's shadow messing up my nice shot! :P )

Bara, someone that I can't see and Chris/Naturegirl/CC (I still don't know which name to call her)
Mt Eisenhower is the bump just left and above that sign.

The group that set out to summit Eisenhower (Evan decided it was too much and turned back, the rest of us are a little crazier)
"Look a yeti!"
Here you get a good idea how deep the snow is, the sign is not meant to be at eye level for rabbits.
A nice group shot at the summit of Eisenhower.
Lunch break, lunch at the summit is an ususual thing for a winter hike, normally it is too cold and windy and the top is the last place you want to stop, but it was just that nice on this day!
Diane making a phone call from the summit
Video walking to Eisenhower I really thought Alex was going to say something profound at any moment. Funny it sounds really windy, but it was calm for most of the hike.
Phone call on top of Eisenhower 'nuf said
All of the following are other people's pictures from that day (so the chronology gets a little screwy)
I realize that it looks like I am just happy, but really I am about to grab Diane and Mikkel's heads and smack them together, the camera just went off at the wrong time!
Claire and Leo taking pictures.
That was the path we made to Mt Eisenhower
There is a tree under that snow that I just thought really needed a hug... yea that's it
Leo, Diane and Alex, this was taken about the time when Leo had just come back from checking out the trail (or rather wehere the trail should be) from Pierce to Eisenhower saying that it was too difficult, the snow was too deep and he kept punching though and he was just going to turn back. To those of us who know Leo... well lets just say it made us SERIOUSLY reconsider going... but then we went anyway!
Not sure what Zach was thinking, but the look on my face is saying something like "what is this guy smoking?!?"
Another yeti?
Nobody told me to bring my sled (and I have a hiking sled too)!
We couldn't figure what made the tracks... perhaps it was the yeti that Alex saw earlier.
