I traveled to Wisconsin for the family camping trip at Perrot State Park near Trempealeau, Wi.
Packing the van. There wasn't enough space in the van to fit all of the gear that we were taking (since we had to bring more people back than we took there), we had to take Mike's Mustang too (which I got to drive up there).

Dad trying to figure out where to put the tents
Just because I am in Wisconsin doen't mean I am not going to take candy with on my hikes.

Cindy, Jill and Bryan taking a walk to see the sunset

My first view of Mt Trempealeau (388', which doesn't really seem like a mountain to anyone who is used to the whites)
Dad cookin'. Mike and Amanda feeling the chill in the air
trying to get the group mobilized to go to the swinging bridge.
When I was a kid I remember this bridge being rather scary, it seemed a lot higher up at the time. I was told that it used to be a made from rope and not cable, aslo that often many of he boards were missing.
The back of the group going for a walk. The Develins
For some reason this mill caught my eye, it just seems very Wisconsin to me to have a run down feed mill and in the back you can see the sandstone that was carved by the river/stream, which was always one of my favorite landscape features in Wisconsin.
Then back to camp.
Walking up Brady's bluff (520')
Mike and Amanda going up the bluff
Brady's bluff while going up.
This swampy area is called Trempealeau Bay, it is an area that is cut off from the rest of the Mississippi in part bt Mt, Trempealeau.

Danny (in orange) and Uncle Dave (in green) at the top of the bluff. Eric and his girlfriend (I forgot her name) at the top of Brady's bluff.
Everyone went back down after the first bluff except for Uncle Dave who went around the west side of the bluff looking for a geocash and myself who went down the south side and up the next bluff called Perrot Ridge (507').

I walked back to the campsite on the xc ski paths

Gathered around the fire.
A bunch of sunset pictures looking across Trempealeau bay and Mt Trempealeau
around the campfire.
The dark picture is of the campsite where everyone is around the fire from the next campsite over. Breakfast time
Sunday morning I took a quick trail run up Brady's bluff.
I didn't really get it, but I thought the trees looked cool reflected on the roof of the car.
