The trip description read "

First of all let me say that if you take things seriously all the time, this (hike? event? insanity? thing?) is not for you.

This hike is a bad idea... and brilliant at the same time (thanks to Spruce and Twizz who helped me think it up, as well as some other people)!

If you think that eating candy, ice cream and drinking a cold beer on top of a mountain while stumbling around in fits of laughter sounds like a good time, then perhaps this hike is for you. If you care what mountains we are hiking, then this hike is not for you. We will be hiking North and South Baldface, I chose these mountains because it is mountain blueberry season and I have been told this is a great place to go for such treats. Blueberries go great in ice cream, beer and just straight in mouth (all of which we will have handy). The total mileage will be just under 10 miles, I haven't figured out the gain yet, but both mountains are just under 4k' so I would guess about 3k gain for the trip.

For those who want to meet at the trail head, I am estimating that we will be there at 10 AM or maybe just a few minutes after. If this is your plan please indicate on your RSVP (if you haven't already) so that I know not to wait for you at the carpool spot.

Wackiness is required! Questionable mental state is welcomed (however must I ask that you be medicated)! Horses are not permitted (sorry Spruce). Costumes are encouraged (except horse costumes since horses are banned)! Inner monkeys cherished! Cotton is accepted (I know, I know, but seriously your judgment is already a little off if you are signing up, no jeans though, even I have my limits). Speed.... mostly irrelevant... however it should be in the ballpark of book time (average pace), you have to be able to laugh and walk at the same time. No slow pokes unless you can make me laugh so hard I can't move (think of a milk out the nose kind of laugh). If you come you MUST bring sugar in some form unless you are diabetic or something, and in that case you have to bring some consumable item that is like crack to you. Bring interesting things, be creative!

I will change all 'maybe' RSVPs to No on the Thursday before the hike, that way people who don't update their RSVP don't ruin the fun for others in the group.

This is a Level 4 or 5 hike (you can read more about levels Here), you must be in good shape and have hiking experience, just because this is silly doesn't mean it is a light hike.

Ice cream flavors can be requested, I am thinking I will get it from Christina's in Inman sq, but JP Licks is also a possibility. Contact me sooner if you want/need soy ice cream. Post in your RSVP if you want ice cream (I don't want to carry extra servings just for the fun of it). Also be sure to bring a spoon and a container to put blueberries in as well as maybe something to put the ice cream in when you eat it.

Please be prepared to hike out what you hike in!

This is about the journey... and it will be a silly one.

"

get the idea?

ok here we have Cheryl (AKA Twizz), Sarah, Ashley (carrying a large ball), Diane, Paul, Bill and myself ready to go

all this rain has been great for mushrooms

badger badger badger, mushroom mushroom, badger badger badger, ahhhh snake!

the snake was garding the blueberries, but we got lots anyway!

There was much silliness on the first summit, and it looks like I didn't take any pictures... not sure why, too busy eating ice cream (which we brought up packed in dry ice) and drinking beer and blueberry martinis I guess.

and the forecast was for rain

second summit!

we are trying to spell 'moo' for the ice cream

Twizz ate too much ice cream and brownies and wasn't feeling too well... Paul also ate too much ice cream, but he apparently has super powers and is immune to food comas.

Second group of photos, some of these came from Cheryl and some came from Sarah

my jedi routine... yup ever since I was 7

beer, blueberry martinis, ice cream, brownies, candy, and a bunch of wacky people, what else could you ask for?

and this was the ball that Ashley carried to the top

I could comment, but nothing I say would be as good as the pictures, just click on them!
